From first enquiry to clear findings.

Whether your next inspection is due or you want to discuss the condition of an existing installation, we’ll start by understanding your site.

  1. Tell us about your site

Send your postcode, approximate number of bays and a few photos. We’ll confirm the scope, quote and arrangements with you.

  2. An on-site inspection

We assess the accessible racking, looking for damage and other visible issues. Access requirements and any specialist areas are agreed in advance.

  3. A written report

Receive the inspection findings and recommended actions, so you can prioritise what needs attention and keep a record for your site.

What does an inspection look at?

The agreed scope will reflect the type and layout of your racking. Typical inspection points include:

  • Visible damage to uprights, bracing and beams.
  • Beam connections, locking devices and visible fixings.
  • Load notices and the way the racking is being used.
  • Visible alterations and other conditions affecting the installation.

Before you book.

Do you inspect outside Kent?

Yes. We’re based in Kent and work across the UK. Send your site postcode so we can confirm arrangements and provide a quote.

Do I need to empty the racking?

Normal racking inspections are generally carried out from ground level. We’ll discuss access, visibility and any site-specific requirements before the visit, including whether any areas need additional access or unloading.

Can you help with repairs or alterations?

Yes. CWS also undertakes racking repairs and alterations. We can discuss any follow-on work separately once the inspection findings are available.

What if I’ve noticed damage already?

Report it promptly through your site’s racking safety procedure. If damage affects the safety of the racking, HSE guidance advises offloading it and preventing use until remedial work is completed. Contact us to discuss an assessment; don’t wait for your next scheduled inspection.
